The Story
Nick picked up a hammer at 2 years old and hasn’t put it down since. His earliest memories of childhood were spent with his dad in his wood shop, often toted around on his back in a carrier.
Along with running a custom cabinetry company, Nick’s father, Bob, started and developed the woodworking program at Cerritos College in 1993, teaching young students the craft he loved most. Growing up immersed in that environment, Nick’s passion for woodworking only grew stronger as he worked closely with his father, assisting him with thousands of projects and soaking in all the knowledge he possibly could.
31 years later, Nick is following in his dad’s footsteps and pursuing his passion for creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces out of wood.
After earning a bachelors degree in structural engineering from UC San Diego, Nick began working as a full time engineer in 2018. In addition to this career, he continued to hone his wood working skills with countless home remodel projects, and custom jobs for clients on the side. He currently resides in Pella, Iowa with his wife, Sydney, in their 1921 craftsman home where he spends most of his free time out in his wood shop.

The Inspiration
Nick draws inspiration from ancient Japanese techniques, which focuses heavily on assembling wooden structures and furniture without the use of nails, utilizing both simple and complex wood joints.
His favorite design style is the American Craftsman, an architectural style that originated at the turn of the 20th century as a reaction to the Victorian style. It emphasizes handcrafted details, local natural materials, and is often recognized by low pitched roofs, exposed beams, built-in cabinetry, large fireplaces, and open floor plans.
The Philosophy
Nick is a firm believer that quality is key and it is always worth the extra effort to do something right the first time. This mantra is heavily applied to not only his life, but his work and his dedication to his clients as well. Behind every job, there is a certain level of meticulous care and craftsmanship that is not only expected, but guaranteed. A project is not complete until the client is satisfied with the work and service provided. That is why Nick is committed to communicating thoroughly with each of his clients from the very first phone call to the final installation day and beyond to ensure that all wishes and requests are understood and executed to the very best of his ability.
